Dr. Sanders Keynotes Morgan State University First Africa Business Conference

Baltimore's Morgan State University (MSU) held its first Africa Business Conference at the University 's new Earl Graves Business Center. Dr. Sanders served as the event's scene setting keynote speaker to highlight current trends in Africa's consumer markets, middle class growth, entrepreneurship and best sector for US companies, especially small business, to engage in the Africa Region.

Her remarks were followed by her 34th book signing event for her recent book "The Rise of Africa's Small and Medium Size Enterprises: Spurring Development and Growing the Middle Class."

The conference was attended by small businesses, domestic and international academics, students and non-governmental organizations.

On right Dr. Sanders highlights the growing number of African consumers with disposable income, and the impact of the new African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCTA), which will make the region have a $USD 2.4 trillion dollar market, the largest in the world. The new AfCTA agreement was signed by 44 African countries and is now making the ratification rounds in each country. The goal is to seek ratification by 22 countries in order for the treaty to come into affect. South Africa, although it did not sign initially said it plans to once it is reviewed so it is in line with its constitution. Nigeria has not yet signed the agreement. (A FEEEDS BlogSpot)











RMU Board member Dr. Sanders Engages with CNN's Wolf Blitzer


As the 2018 graduation speaker at Pittsburgh's Robert Morris University (RMU) and the 2018 recipient of  RMU's honorary doctorate of humanities, CNN's internationally renowned and respected  anchor Wolf Blitzer stressed to RMU's graduating students the importance of engaging globally but also emphasized how critical it was for them as global citizens to share what they learn with others, and also ensure they give back.

As an RMU Board Member and Trustee Ambassador Sanders had an opportunity to engage with Blitzer in advance of the graduation ceremonies, along with the esteem and dynamic RMU President Dr. Christopher Howard.

Dr Sanders Opens Joburg's African Leadership Academy Model African Union Event

 

South Africa's prestigious                                                                    African  Leadership  Academy (ALA),
one of the best new models of African educational institutions, not only celebrated its 10th anniversary this year but also its 5th Model Africa Union Conference pulling in high school level students from across the African Continent.

Featured keynote speaker and session advisor for this year's prestigious 2018 Model AU conference was Ambassador Sanders who spoke not only about leadership, but also encouraged students to see their ALA education as a form of "power," which no one can ever tale away from them.


In addition to being the opening keynoter, Sanders also provided advice and suggestions in specific issues such as peace and security, conflict resolution, and the prospect of bitcoin used to address various funding challenges of the AU, and held an hour-long diplomatic roundtable with the assembled 200 plus students on today's world issues from Burma-to-Syria-to-Africa and the International Criminal Court.


Sanders also received a recognition award from ALA for her contribution to the conference and students.

Sanders talks to Young Female Coders in Lagos,Nigeria

Teams of young high school female coders gather at Lagos, Nigeria's Venture Garden Group (VGG) ICT company's new offices to participate in a coding competition in an effort to encourage girls to see coding as a future area of entrepreneurship. Sanders also sits on the board of VGG.


Dr. Sanders, an Information Systems and Communications major herself, had an opportunity to talk to the budding ICTers about how important their participation is in the field and encouraging them to see the profession as an sector for their future  livelihood.
