Sanders Highlights Important Role of Africa to Gannon University Students

Ambassador Sanders spent a week at Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania as part of a visiting scholar program under the Center for Independent Colleges in Universities which focuses on raise awareness of American Students on a range of international and domestic issues. Dr. Sanders focus was to discuss the importance of Africa to the United States, and the elements that make Africa a key strategic partner to America. In addition to lecturing on 12-15 different topics related to Africa, intercultural understanding, the role of the United Nations today, international relations, food security and women's issues in the global arena, Sanders also met with resettled African refugees from Democratic Republic of the Congo, Liberia, South Sudan, Sierra Leona, and with African-American High School Students in a college preparatory program. Below follows links of the new coverage of the visit. Dr. Sanders keynote address will be posted in a subsequent BlogSpot.
